Description

Garlic Mushroom Grilled Cheese is a heavenly combination of sautéed mushrooms and gooey cheese nestled between crispy bread, creating the ultimate comfort food experience.


Ingredients

  • Fresh mushrooms (cremini or button)
  • Garlic (fresh cloves)
  • Sourdough or whole wheat bread
  • Gruyère or sharp cheddar cheese
  • Unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Sauté sliced mushrooms and minced garlic in butter over medium heat until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. In a skillet, place one slice of bread (butter-side down), layer half the cheese, add sautéed mushrooms, then top with remaining cheese and another slice of bread (butter-side up).
  4. Grill until golden brown on both sides and cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, slice in half, and enjoy warm.
