  • 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat; let cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, pumpkin puree, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, spices, and salt; gradually fold into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. If using, gently fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown; a toothpick should come out clean.
