  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (plus extra for greasing)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter with ½ cup sugar and flour until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the prepared dish.
  3. Bake the crust for 15 minutes until golden brown.
  4. While it bakes, whisk together eggs, remaining sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and baking powder until smooth.
  5. Gently fold in sliced strawberries and pour the mixture over the baked crust.
  6. Bake again for 30-35 minutes until set with a slight wobble in the center.
  7. Allow cooling completely before slicing into squares.
