- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
- 1 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, combine pitted cherries with 1/4 cup sugar, 2 tbsp flour, and cinnamon. Toss until cherries are coated.
- In another bowl, mix remaining flour, oats, sugar, baking powder, and cold butter. Use fingers or a pastry cutter until crumbly.
- Press half of the crumble mixture into the baking dish as the base. Top with cherry filling evenly spread out.
- Sprinkle remaining crumble over the cherry layer and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool completely before slicing into squares.
