  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme
  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary
  • 6 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 1 large onion, quartered
  • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Remove giblets from the turkey cavity and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub softened butter all over the turkey's skin, then season generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Stuff the cavity with garlic cloves, lemon slices, onion quarters, and fresh herbs.
  5. Place the turkey in a roasting pan breast-side up. Pour chicken broth into the pan.
  6. Roast for about 3-4 hours, basting every 30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
