  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 packet (1 oz) gravy mix
  • 1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme (or ½ tsp dried thyme)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry the chicken breasts; trim excess fat and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine chicken broth, gravy mix, and onion soup mix until well blended.
  3. Place seasoned chicken in the crockpot and pour the mixture over it.
  4. Dot with butter and sprinkle with fresh thyme.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender and shreds easily.
  6. Remove the chicken, whisk the remaining liquid to create gravy, then serve over mashed potatoes or rice.
