  • 1 egg yolk
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a tart pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in cold butter until the mixture is crumbly.
  3. Mix in the egg yolk until the dough forms, adjusting with more flour if necessary.
  4. Press the dough into the prepared tart pan, poking holes in the bottom to prevent bubbling.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  6. While the crust cools, combine cherries with sugar and vanilla extract in a bowl; let them macerate for 10 minutes.
  7. Spread the cherry mixture over the baked crust and return to the oven for another 25-30 minutes until bubbly.
  8. Cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, slice, and serve warm or cold.
