  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. 1. Activate the Yeast: In a small bowl, mix warm milk with 2 tbsp sugar and yeast. Let it sit until frothy (about 10 minutes).
  2. 2. Mix the Dough: In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add melted butter and the yeast mixture. Stir until combined.
  3. 3. Knead the Dough: On a floured surface, knead dough for about 8 minutes until smooth.
  4. 4. First Rise: Place in an oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise until doubled (about 1 hour).
  5. 5. Prepare Filling: Mix remaining sugar with cinnamon.
  6. 6. Roll Out Dough: Punch down dough and roll into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  7. 7. Add Filling & Roll Up: Spread butter over dough; sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Roll tightly from one end to another.
  8. 8. Shape Rolls & Second Rise: Cut into equal pieces and place in a greased baking dish. Cover and let rise again (30 minutes).
  9. 9. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. 10. Create Icing: While cooling, mix powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and enough milk for desired consistency. Drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
