  • 2 cups fresh cranberries (about 220g)
  • 2 medium Granny Smith apples, diced (about 300g)
  • 1 thumb-sized piece of fresh ginger, grated (about 20g)
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice (about 120ml)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar (150g), adjust to taste
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/4 cup water (60ml)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the cranberries under cold water and discard any soft or shriveled ones.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine cranberries, diced apples, grated ginger, sugar, orange juice, water, and the cinnamon stick. Stir gently.
  3. Bring to a gentle boil while stirring occasionally until cranberries pop and release their juices.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
  5. Remove from heat, discard the cinnamon stick, and let cool at room temperature before transferring to an airtight container.
