  • 1 package (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 large eggs
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 8 oz Cool Whip
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, water, and eggs until smooth. Pour into the prepared dish.
  3. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
  4. Once cooled, poke holes all over the top of the cake with a fork.
  5. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with sugar until smooth. Fold in the Cool Whip.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the poked cake and chill for about an hour.
  7. Spoon cherry pie filling over the cheesecake layer and refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.
