  • 1 lb flank steak
  • 1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 cup bell peppers (sliced)
  • 2 green onions (chopped)
  • 2 tsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger (grated)
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey

Instructions

  1. Slice flank steak into thin strips against the grain. In a bowl, mix teriyaki sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and honey. Add steak strips and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Cook rice according to package instructions or reheat day-old rice.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté sliced bell peppers until slightly tender (about 3-4 minutes) and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, cook marinated steak strips until browned (about 4-5 minutes). Pour remaining marinade into the skillet and simmer until thickened.
  5. To assemble, place rice in bowls, top with sautéed veggies and teriyaki steak. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
